What precautions should we take care during knee replacement?

 We all know that precautions are better than cure no matter in daily life or after surgery or during surgery.

Meaning of knee replacement :-

Knee replacement refer to the replacement of knee which may be injured in any accident or may not functioning well. Knee replacement is done mainly when if your knee doesn’t move properly or can make you problem in walking , lifting weights or in making any other movement.

Precautions during knee replacement :-

  • Have proper diet plan :- Even after , before and during knee replacement surgery your diet must be proper . Proper diet include fresh fruits , juices, vegetables and green vegetables. Also include milk in your diet plan.

  • Take your medicines :- Medicines and pain relief tablets are necessary after surgery . Avoid taking unnecessary pills or medicines which are not recommended by your doctor.

  • Don’t move your knee :- After surgery moving your knee is good but not as a normal knee movement . Move your knee slowly-slowly so that the implement inserted inside can be safe and protect you from any another injury.

  • Avoid lifting heavy weights :- lifting heavy weights can injure you more and may also damage your knee.

  • Avoid consuming alcohol :- Consuming alcohol will always damage your body organs . After surgery consuming alcohol , smoking and drugs are too poisonous for your body.

  • Avoid folding your knee for long time period :- your doctor will recommend you for movement for knee but the movement should be according to your convenience . If you feel for more movement you must ask your doctor or surgeon. But always avoid folding of your knee in improper way.

  • Avoid sitting on floor :- Sitting on floor unnecessary or more than you needed will provide you pain around your surgical area.

  • Avoid playing football , basketball and another names :- Playing games indoor or outdoor is beneficial for 
  • you must control on your games activity because if a little bit of injury came on your surgical area than it may come to serious matter.

  • Take care of your implement :- Implement inserted at your surgical area are of metallic. After surgery it’s our duty to take care of our surgical area.

  • Consult your doctor on time :- If you feel irritation, itching and any type of infection on surgical area you must consult your doctor and ask your doctor to change your cream and medicines.
